The spoke wheels are more durable and can be easily repaired as compared to the alloy wheels. But, the spoke wheels are shod with tube tyres instead of the tubeless ones, only a handful of high-end adventure tourers have the option of tubeless tyres with spoke wheels. Tubeless tyres are more efficient in long tours as the rider doesnt have to worry in case of a puncture. In the Royal Enfield current product line-up only the Thunderbird 350X and 500X are available with alloy wheels. Both the motorcycles are also available with spoked wheels. The tyres on the Thunderbird and Classics are same and this points to the possibility of Royal Enfield providing the same Thunderbirds alloy wheels on the Classic series as an accessory. This being said, we can also expect the homegrown brand to introduce more official touring accessories for the Classics, not to mention that Royal Enfield has already equipped the Classics with dual-channel ABS. Royal Enfield has spruced up its research and development department and is working on a number of new products. The spy shots and a teaser video of Royal Enfield Trails are already doing rounds on the internet and there are rumours that the brand might also introduce a bigger Himalayan in late 2020. Future looks exciting for the Indian multinational motorcycle manufacturer.
